Join us for drinks and hor d’oeuvres and be among the first to hear new music from this veteran Vancouver Songwriter/ Soul Singer / Producer.
The Evening will include live performances by Robert and members of his band, the Blackbird P.A., as well as the Vancouver premier of the new video from the album’s first single “Gonna Make It”.
This will be followed by “Anatomy of a song”, a live mixing session and Q&A.
Robert and fellow producer John Raham will dissect, discuss, and dynamically reconstruct a song from ?Lovers One – Haters Zero?, exploring the bones “behind the music”. Hear the individual tracks that form a song, and see the process and thought of how they are brought together.
After a Q&A period, the mixing station will be turned over to the people, giving the audience the chance to explore the record, and remix it on the fly. Enjoy this rare opportunity to take a seat in the producer’s chair.
Please join us for this very special night of music and conversation in celebration of Robert’s new record.

Hey ya’ll, John and I are in the studio all this week and most of next week mixing the record. Many of you know it been over 2 years since we first started recording. It’s exciting to be getting close to completion.
As I type john is burning a mix of “Jimmy Cliff” down to 2 inch tape. Man it sounds so good to hit tape!! I know it’s a pain in the ass to work with, but recording to tape just sounds better. I wish you could all be here in the studio to hear it right from the original tape.
Jimmy cliff is a nod to my reggae heroes, so we’ve got some classic tape echo going on on this track.
“”The harder they come, the harder they fall”, Jimmy Cliff told me, and I believe it all”
Robert Wilson and Jully Black in Concert a spectacular evening of funky powerful soul Thursday, November 1, 2007 at 9:00pm
The Media Club – Vancouver BC 695 Cambie street
I’ll be doing an opening set for Jully black. You all know about me so let me tell you what I know about Jully Black.
She’s one of canada’s most popular soul singers. based in Toronto, she’s penned songs for Destiny’s Child and Nas, and shared the stage with Jay-Z, 50 Cent, Bon Jovi, Josh Groban and Usher. she’s hosted the juno awards and is a host of e-talk daily. but more inportantly she’s an amazing singer and I hear she’s travelling with a killer band.
We’re playing a very small venue and I’m sure that this one will sell out real quick. get your tickets soon through ticketmaster.
